Back on the Asian Tour
/After gaining starts in the first three LIV Golf Tournaments Trav is back to his regular job on the Asian Tour.
His results on the LIV Tour were absolutely solid especially given the strength of field. Pity no world ranking points!
London 33rd
Portland 29th
Bedminster 22nd
His first hit out back on the Asian Tour was in Singapore in early August where he just missed the cut by two shots with rounds of 76 and 69. He reported having suffered the worst jet lag ever after arriving in Singapore.
The following week in Korea he made the cut on the number and had a big moving day on Saturday to vault 50 places up the leader board with a round of 66 eventually settling for T25th on 7 under.
Both these events were part of the International Series, effectively the pathway to LIV, (unless you happen to be in the top 50 in the world). Trav is placed 6th on the “International Series OOM”.
There are no more International Series events ahead of the remaining LIV events so that’s it for this year as regards LIV.
There are possibly another 4 International Series events in late 2022 and understandably he has to prioritise these tournaments if he is to climb within the top 3 of golfers, not otherwise qualified, on the International Series and gain further entries to LIV in 2023.
Last week he teed up in Japan at the Shinhan Donghae Open at the KOMA Country Club. He carded rounds of 67, 70, 68 and 67 to finish T 32 at 12 under par. He is now 10th on the overall Asian Tour OOM.
He will be back in Australia for the PGA Championship at RQGC starting on 24 November.
