The Players Series at Bonnie Doon

Thirsty work at the Doon

Thirsty work at the Doon

Bonnie Doon scored the first combined PGA and WPGA event in NSW in the form of The Players Series. The tours are optimistic that they can build on this formula combining Men and Women competing for the same prize money alongside elite amateurs.

League legend Braith Anasta is hosting the tournament. An exciting tournament to host after such a long COVID lay off.

Contender Sports supports three players in the field.

Travis Smyth continued the form he showed at the Moonah Links PGA Classic with rounds of 4 under and 6 under to be tied 2nd going into the week end. He is one shot behind the leader.

James Grierson had the added pressure of performing in front of his home crowd. He stood up and delivered with rounds of 1 under and 3 under to be tied 28th going into the weekend.

Darren Beck delivered a solid 2 under par first round but a bit of bad luck fighting the strengthening winds means that he missed the 2 under cut line by 2 shots.
