A Rare Occasion when these four get together for a round of golf

The Vic Open is a very successful innovation on the professional circuit combining the men’s and women’s Vic Open Championships, importantly with equal prize money of $1.5m for men and women. The event has got the attention of co-sanctioning tours, the European Tour and the LPGA. It is to be copied in Europe but alas not by any other State in Australia!

Kempy, Becky, Grierso and Trav all teed up.

Trav sailed into the week end T2 with rounds of 7 under and 5 under. His only obstacle seemed to be an encounter with a snake! “Body is a bit sore going into the week end but all good!”

Sarah started with a great front nine on day one stumbled a bit on the back nine but recovered well. Ultimately into the week end T20 at 7 under.

For James it was his first Tour event using his new found status via Tour School. Missed the 5 under par cut by 2 shots. He is off to play two Queensland events on Monday. Despite not making the week end he made a good fist of this European co-sanctioned event..

Becky made the 5 under cut on the number. He was one of the first off for Saturday’s round in strong winds nearing 50 km/hour. A 3 under par third round to take him to 8 under should assure him of playing the fourth round on Sunday. Difficult to predict the cut line in the windy conditions.

A feature of this tournament is a third round cut of top 35 competitors (including amateurs).
