Maybank Championship

Trav started the first round of the US$3m Maybank Championship to the dull clap of thunder in the distance.  Being one of the last groups away it seemed unlikely he would finish.  The afternoon turned out well both for weather and score.He finished at 2 under par and tied 26.  The field is tightly packed with only a handful of shots separating top 5 and missing the even par projected cut."I drove the ball well off the tee and found just about all the fairways.  Couple of soft bogeys in there.  Made some good par saves late in the day so all in all I'm good."As a co-sanctioned European Tour event the field has 60 highly ranked european tour players.  There are a dozen Aussies players.  Marcus Fraser is leading the tournament at 7 under.
