Asia-Pacific Amateur Championships

Travis teed up at Royal Wellington Golf Club, New Zealand in what could be his last hurrah as an amateur golfer.  Simply put if he wins he stays amateur to take the prize of a start at The Masters and The Open, if not, he turns Pro and takes up his status on the PGA Tour of Australasia.The weather in Wellington was forecast as a high of 16 degrees with winds changing direction and up to 25 km/h.In the first round Travis carded a one under par 70 to be T11 and 7 shots behind leader Shae Wols-Cobb.  Travis was even par through 17 before collecting a birdie on the final hole.Harrison Endycott is also T11. Min Woo Lee is tied 2nd on 4 under par. Dylan Perry is one shot back from Travis at even par.The event is four stroke rounds with a cut to top 60 after 36 holes.  Last year's winner was Curtis Luck.
